Roofs

Will you be able to get insurance in Florida with an old roof and what is old?
Citizens Insurance is a Florida State run insurance agency. The following is an excerpt from thier website:
“Roofs older than 25 years (soft such as shingle or similar) or 50 years (hard such as tile, slate, clay, concrete or metal) require documentation showing at least five years of remaining useful life. A Florida-licensed inspector must conduct an inspection to check for any visible signs of damage or deterioration. When a roof has less than five years of remaining useful life, the property owner must provide proof of a full replacement to the inspector before any policy is written on the property. The inspector will complete a Inspection Form verifying the roof is in good condition.”
